Motion 4 Problem

Greetings!

I posted this on the Apple Motion Forum a couple of weeks ago with no response so I thought I might have some luck here. Please forgive me, but, I'm at a dead end.

Any footage either sent from FC4 or imported into Motion 4 displays BLACK. Footage is viewable in the internal viewer, Quicktime, in the file browser preview, and on an external monitor. Media preview shows BLACK as well as in the inspector. Footage exports out fine. Same issue when opening old Motion projects.

Dumped preferences, repaired permissions, zapped the pram. I'm at a loss. I'm open to any suggestions.

Any thoughts?

System is an 8 core MacPro running 10.6.8, 8Gigs Ram, GeForce 8800 GT

Regards,
Bill

3.2GHz 8-Core Mac Pro 8GB, Mac OS X (10.6.8), and all the other stuff to make it work.

What kind of footage? ... sounds to me like your Video-card maybe unsupported for M4 or I have had same thing happen when video resolution exceeds Video cards capabilities... Think it was 2K

Thanks for the replies guys. All my Motion projects are Broadcast HD. Nothing higher than 1920x1080. I use AE for all my 2K work and the box handles that fine. ProRez 422 HQ is codec and has worked great until 10.6.7 I think. Being that any old Motion project with raster footage has the same issue I think it has something to do with the OS/Quicktime. I can't find any info on what Motion uses to view internally. I've dumped QT10, than QT7, but haven't seen any difference. As much as I like AfterEffects there are some thing that Motion just does better. Of course there is the old job problem. Yes Andy, it's the same on both my MacPros and my MacBookPro. Regrettably, all have been upgraded to 10.6.8. My VERY BAD!!!

Thanks again!
Bill

Problem solved! Issue turned out to be a custom monitor profile generated with an eye one and the X-Rite software. Switching back to a default profile brings Motion back to full functionality.
