Going into production, and currently running an older gh13 hack that doesn't have 24p native.
Want to upgrade to match the gh2 that is our second camera.

I need something reliable, I can't afford to lose shots.

shooting 1080 24p with the most latitude and stability possible.

Recommendations highly accepted.

(second question)
I am in need of a second charger and battery, can you recommend (provide an ebay link) where to purchase? (Is there still a bug with aftermarket batteries?)

Thanks fellas!

I´m in a similar situation and would greatly appreciate an answer the the above questions.

For highest reliability in Native 24p, I recommend the Blackout-Powell Patch, linked below in my signature.

100Mbps Max Latitude Patch records the largest I-frames, so it creates the most detailed AVCHD for GH13. At the expense of some reliability. A good SD card should be pretty reliable even with a sharp lens, excluding digital lenses.

Appreciated for the clarification.
Sorry for the noob question but while briefly going through the blackout powell thread it looked to to me that it will only do 720p 24p. Is this correct? I was actually looking for full hd 24p, but I guess that with that much information 60Mbps is not stable.

Unfortunately I don't have answer for that, because I went with the best AVCHD quality right away and stayed with that. Until only much later I started experimenting with the GOP-1 settings, where each frame is an I-frame. Those settings are not reliable, however, so not recommended for important jobs. They do give very nice motion rendering, though. 100% accurate 24p and 25p motion. Amount of detail is reduced, but in dark scenes GOP-1 helps to create a more consistent and thus "better looking noise" for the image.
