(Most likely) the usual SDHC card questions

This is for an un-hacked GH1, but would like to think I may own a GH2 sometime soon, not sure if specs are any different

Am about to purchase multiple cards and need opinions re:

1) Is class 6 okay or should I stick to class 10?

2) Does capacity have any effect on things (8, 16, 32 GB) other than how much footage can be stored on them?

3) Is brand a major factor? (In the past I've stuck with Panasonic and SanDisk but obviously more $)

Not sure if I covered all considerations so any other thoughts welcome. This is for something more than a home project so #1 concern is reliability

Thanks

Class 10 is mostly useful if you want to shoot with hacked MJPEG. GH2 has max rate of 24MBit which is way under the margins of even Class 4. I use Class 4 16GB Sundisk on hacked GH1 w/o issues in AVCHD.

Regarding the brand, it DOES matter. I've tested different brands with same classing, and Sundisk usually outperforms other.

The Gh1 and GH2 don't need class 10 or even class 6 (for AVCHD), they're fine with being shot on Class 4.

You do need Class 6 for the MJPG mode. And if you're running a hacked GH13, you definitely want to be using the fastest/best cards available, which usually means Class 10.

And yes, brand matters - not so much in speed, as the "class" ratings guarantee minimum speed (provided, of course, you're not using knockoff bogus cards). But the better quality card, the more reliable it should be. IMO, the top brands (in no particular order) are the SanDisk Extreme, the Panasonic Gold, and the Lexar premium cards.
