Most affordable laptop for 1080p realtime editing, color correcting, etc work

Does the color correcting have to be realtime or just the editing? Thats a big question. If CC doesnt have to be realtime, im pretty sure you'd be able to get away with using a <$500 laptop with the right NLE. What NLE are you using? And what will you be using for color grading?

SonyVPCZ11C5E. 1,4 kg
Will do that all, but cost roundabout 2000 $ or more
I use it and I am satisfied.

A 950 dollar refurbished macbook pro is a great cheap option and then you could run premiere mac/pc or FCP... I dual boot so you have that as an option. It also comes with a firewire 800 port and a built in SD card reader so there's options...

not to start a mac/pc thing here.. but it's a good solid laptop for a really cheap price... I get a good solid 3 years out of everyone before they start to get shaky...

Agreed. Solid investment in a refurbished Macbook Pro (if you buy the latest or last generation model) will last you three years. My mid-2008 Macbook is starting to show signs of aging, my early 2010 mac mini can do more than it now with ease.
