Okay, it sounds like I have a similar problem as dscvideo's mosaic problem, but I think there's more to my situation than dirty heads.
I've had a DVX100Ap for about 5 months, about 10 hours use in recording, capture to Avid, etc. Today, the following problem started: while recording a scene the image appeared fine on the LCD and eyepiece, but then in playback there are alternating colored vertical lines across the image: roughly a red line, normal image pixels, green line, image pixels, blue
line, image pixels, etc. -- about 20 or 30 sets of this all across the entire screen.
The problem seems to be a recording and playback issue. A TV a JVC have shown the same effect from the recorded tape. And now, any tape recorded on the Panasonic reproduces the problem. I've double-checked all the Panasonic's settings (going back to default values) and cleaned the heads (2 times) and no improvement.
To note: when playing the first corrupt tape on a JVC, the lines only began in the middle of the tape; the beginning looks fine. All other tapes on the JVC look fine as well. On the Panasonic, all tapes have the lines throughout (tapes previously recorded and tapes that have been recorded by another camcorder). I have found the spot on the first tape where the problem begins using the JVC; after that point the problem gets worse over 20 seconds and then remains across the screen -- so it was definitely recorded this way.
So what does this sound like?
