MORE SGPRO GRABS, Footage in about an hour.

It looks pretty good. BUT, I have a letus35A and I am still not seeing the difference between it and much more expensive adapters. It seems like the variables are much more related to lighting and the quality of the lens on the adapter.

Hi Timur, thanks for posting.

What lens was used in these video's?

Would we be able to see a shot with your 50mm F1.4 lens wide open, a pull focus?

OK both of the above videos were shot with a Very low quality F2.8 28mm Lens.

The grabs of my dad ( who just woke up hence bed head) were shot with a Konica 30-80mm Zoom F4.

( these are my two worst lenses. i was just testing to see how awful they were) Heres a Grab from my best lens, the FD 50mm F1.4

it looks like stock 24P with "thick" line detial.... it loses such little resolution. I LOVE THAT LENS.

Konica F4.0 "50mm" in the zoom range.

Zesnar 200mm F3.5.

Interesting. Really does go to show the importance of having quality glass in your front end lens. Some lenses have there own problems with colour seperation.

I like the rack focus, gives a good idea of the SGpro's bokeh.

Im really wanting to see some video from the 50mm F1.4 prime :)

Hi Timur. Are you able to shoot a chart or photo straight on so we can check the edge to edge sharpness?

Cheers
Aaron

Yes,
This is something I was trying to determine from your footage. Think its best if you do that with your 50mm F1.4, I dont trust your other lenses :)

Hey,
did you shoot the 50mm test at full open?
In a lot of adapters´ testfootage the DoF is way too short for my taste, sth I would maybe only use to imply a state of dizziness or sth...
I´d like to see something more stepped down, with a usable DoF, your tests will mean so much for us guys getting ready to also buy an adapter!
Thank you!

There is very noticeable CA in the last clip, even from Timur’s best 50mm.

Wayne, I assume you tried Nikon’s and Canon’s. Is the CA still present with these?

I agree, shooting a resolution test chart would be nice.

Thanks

I think the problem is 2 fold. Timurs 28mm lens has a lot of CA, so the front end lens contributes to any CA. Also, Timurs unit being custom and having a fixed custom lens mount, this results in the SGpro's condenser lens not being at optimal distance from the GG, which will add to any CA from the front end lens. It is however, much better then the original SG35, and I only really see CA in over exposed area's. All SGpro units with the interchangeable mounts are set up to optimal, and we will be posting footage very soon.

I am going to try to do a rez test now. But let me be clear. it will be printed on normal letter paper, taped to my wall, lit with home depot lights. Bootleg all the way. so it is not the end all be all test. so dont get all upset if the results come out wonky, or like it deosnt seem that sharp, because to be perfectly honest its sharp enough to cause high frequency flicker on a nice Sony Trinitron TV set. if it can cause flicker thats sharp enough.

I fully expect the res in these adapters to be a little less than without them. I'm more interested in edge to edge sharpness as I have seem some that looks real nice until you looked at the edges and realised they were quite a bit softer.

Thanks for all your hard work in getting this stuff out though!

Aaron
