More P2 time at 30PN than 24PN?

My camera is telling me that I'll get more time from a 16GB card at 30PN (44 minutes) than 24PN (42 minutes). Same result, relatively speaking, with an 8GB card (22 vs 21). I thought 30 would be considerably less than 24, as has been indicated in everything ever I've read on the question.

Very surprising/confusing. Anyone have an explanation?

check and make sure you have frame rate set to default in the scene file. You may have it set to 24 fps and so when you switch to 30, you would actually be recording fast motion with no audio. Make sense?

Just double check your scene file. That's what I would guess.

In reality, you should get about 2 minutes per gig at 30pn if you have your frame rate set to default rather than an actual number in your scene file settings.

24pn should give you about 2.5 minutes per gig.
