More grain than usual....

Today I noticed more grain than usual in some footage that I just shot. It was a bright day and I happened to be shooting through a circular polarizer. Does this have anything to do with the grain? Thanks in advance for your replies.

are you shooting 30p. If so than grain is normal. I asked Barry last and he said that tha tis normal when shooting progressive. I fnot shooting 30p than I don't really know.
But normally shooting with polarizer has nothing to do with adding grain.

It may have been the sunny day. Grain increases when the chips heat up, so I hear. That means that if you've been filming for 3 hours, in the sun, it will be more grainy than if you were in mild weather and had just turned on the camera. This issue is addressed in various digital photography mags, so you may find the article.
