More Feature Grabs

Heres some grabs from another scene out of my project "Trapped". This is part of a party scene where the characters are just sitting around by a fire. I thought the scene came out pretty crappy but visually I think it looks pretty good. The problem overall in the scene was a little bit in the acting but mostly because the script was ackward for this scene and the actors sorta improvised a lot of it and the improvisations didnt make the scene work as a whole.

We might need to reshoot the scene but anyways here are the grabs...tell me what you think.

and this isn't the final cc'd version of the images...just a test really

Wasn't really all that much on the camera... I used the same scene setting as I use on most of my shots. Its really all the lighting. The lighting turned out really well and its kinda lucky because I was only able to grab 2 lights when I went to this location. I used a home depot work light and a flouro for this and it was a really dark night. I used the work light to light the actors and create that single source harsh shadow look(reddish because they were next to a fire) and i used the flouro practically under the fire to illuminate the smoke and the actors on the other side of the fire....it also softened the light on these actors a little bit

I think I might want to tone down the red on the second grab a little thanks for the comment tho. Whats everyone else think?

here, I'll throw some more in .... these are from different scenes...PLZ tell me what u think, comments both good and bad are welcomed :)

And heres 2 with natural lighting :thumbdown  The actors walk into the focus(I planned it like this, so the focus being off on the first one isnt a mistake :) )

And here is one I DON'T really like, the look is just too extreme probably but I'll post it anyways cuz maybe somone has a suggestion on how to make it look cool

The First set: I really like them, I agree to take some of the red out of the second, and it looks a bit blown out on her arm in the first, but I like the lighting. 2nd: First one is too purple for me, but I'm sure it makes sense in it's context. They look really soft, almost like a glow has been added (esp in the 3rd grab, almost looks like a ghost was caught on tape in the b/g) The out of focus ones look a bit grainy, but the colors are really good.

The first three grabs looks pretty decent. You can use more grabs of the red hair girl. The second set looks more like magic bullet overkill look. Cut back on that diffused soft look. It's starting to look like everyone elses film. I'll admit you got rich colors! My free cents.

Thx for all the input, I actually didnt even use magic bullet on most of the second set(I used it on the last one). Its a glow effect which I like but maybe I should cut it back if you all think its overkill. And on the one I actually used a gaussian blur to somewhat mask the fact that you can see a tripod in the background  lol
