Re: more fall grabs

nice...looks very fantasy like....alice in wonderland...put a little caterpillar on the mushroom and have him smoking a pipe...good looking stuff man. nice colors!

Re: more fall grabs

The first pic looks, uh, you know it just looks alittle weird. But I like the colors. The branch, root or what you call it almost looks like a catapillar.

Re: more fall grabs

I loved the first shot. I know you were probably trying to open up as much as possible to throw the background out of focus like that and use the green as more of a palette back drop and I dig that. But I think you could have still maintained relatively shallow depth of field even if you closed up a tad. So we could se more detail and it wouldn't be so blown out. (ie I would have liked to see the white spot details on top of the right cap of the shroom. ) But then again maybe this is better and then bring it down in post because you can't really go the other way.
But if you had the level set from the camera, I think you'd get better color and less interference.

This is because of my film training to get a dense, rich negative. Is it the same with film? *not the mechanical process - i know it's not celluloid but 1 and 0 converted by three ccd chips- but the idea that each thing you do to it in post is adding a layer of artificat thus losing picture qualtiy* is that true?

thanks.

Re: more fall grabs

nice grabs! that wonderland feeling, as rich mentioned, catched me, too.

but as i remember, alice sit on some flatter mushroom. how about this one? ;)

LOL

In video is the opposite. You can't bring overexposed image down, only underexposed image up. But the apperture change is minimal to produce the Shallow DOF in this picture. The fact that he is either in Full Tele or very close in Macro is much more significant...

Re: more fall grabs

Gstone,
thats cool man. Reminds me of the Smurfs.
Is it me or the first pic of the mushroom kind of looks like a deform penis, no offense Michael Blackborun.

Re: more fall grabs

Funny how people see what they want to see in things, some see a mushroom, others see..... well maybe the're just sad the tree has *twice* the equipment they do. :)

here is the original grabs before CC

Re: more fall grabs

oh you color corrected!?
mine was just as it came out...
but god job anyway. maybe you could get a bit better result, if you don't oversaturate hihglights so much and try a bit less contrast at all... only a few suggestions
