more damn footage - Freezer Burn DVX Feature

Man that looks really slick! Except maybe for the boom mic in the shawshank redemption shot. Your actors have good interesting faces too! Instead of everyone looking like....movie stars. heh.

these are the kind of results responsible for me buying a dvx. Very nice work, you are achieving the "look" I think most of us are striving for. You have visually answered the question, "what makes a film?" Kuddos.

I've been out to LA a few times to key or gaff for a few friends but not shooting as of yet...oh, and did you mean the younger or the older actress...the younger one's name is Ella Ray Peck, New Yorker too. She's fifteen! I had to keep my crew off of her, for propriety and for legal reasosn - of course I only had two guys so....

No seriously, you seem to have really talented actors in front of the camera, and I think that is what gives the professional look.

Beautiful footage! The facial closeups were very appealing in both color and dynamic range and the sky/saw grass and bird shots were superb. Didn't find crane/dolly overdone at all.

My only complaint was on the shot of the white car driving away from what looks like a school front. The car really clipped badly and gave off a very "video-ish" look.

I agree that the actors look interesting, and I also loved the music! Can you tell me the name of that tune and who's performing it? Will it be used at all in the finished film or is it strickly for this footage preview?

eclaire - thank you for the compliment and I agree wholeheartedly with the white car. What happens in preproduction - no stripes, no plaids, stay away from reds and expecially white - my only real notes for production...what happens? White car! I flipped out - they asked me what to do and I was like - get a new car! No luck so we had to shoot - and that was on an overcast day - it never would have come out in any other weather. Luckily it rests in the shade for the end of the scene...

oh and the music is the song "Chocolate" from the band Snow Patrol - I just love the song, there is no way the film could afford the rights, unless they get finishing costs....

she's Ella Ray Peck, a New yorker as well. She's actually quite a good little actress. She had done a lot of theater, but I was impressed with her ability to subdue her theatrical roots and play to the more subtle side, especially in her close-ups.

haha oh my god, i saw you film last year at the indie spiret film festival, i have the mini poster hanging in my office, never thought it was on a dvx haha
