GH13 moon

Hey guys...I will be shooting some b-roll of the moon tonight and I wanted some opinions on what settings to use for crisp night shots? Thanks!

Use ISO 100 if the moon is full, otherwise turn it up as little as possible. (It helps to have as much DR as you can get!) But even 400 can look too dirty, IMO.
Clouds are nice to include passing over the moon, but they will show up as shadows if you've got the moon correctly exposed at night. If you need more tonality then try shooting earlier so you have a little daylight to fill in the sky.
Notice where the moon is moving, and compose your shot so it starts on one side and drifts across.

A slight heat shimmer is visible, (less in the wilderness?) Also wind wobble / jelly can be a serious problem with the GH1 1080p mode & very long lenses - unless your setup is very solid.
Shots of 5-6 minutes are doable if you place the moon at the edge of the frame to start off.

Both of these were taken with the 100Mbps patch, 1080p AVCHD. The average bitrate was less than 3Mbit, due to the vast blackness, so recording times are not a problem at night!
Don't bother with MJPEG, the quality is not as good.
