Montage Reel 2008 - any advice?

that was a tight reel. what did you use for the opening shot and was the adaptor used in that? i'm curious as to what would stabilize that much weight, gear, etc on that type of shot

Thanks!
For the opening shot we had a Kessler Crane on the back of a Pickup Truck. It was shot with the Letus Extreme with Zeiss SuperSpeeds. If I knew how to upload photos I would post a picture of the truck rig we had.

nice, i've been procrastinating on that kessler crane way too long. how many feet do you have on your crane? 8 or 12?

you can upload pics by just clicking the "manage attachments" button that's below the "submit reply" button and below the emotinicons

I think we had 12 feet, i don't remember, it isnt mine, all i remember is the crane going up really high and almost hitting overhanging trees...not a good feeling.

The second shot was on a J.L. Fisher Model 11 Dolly

Below are a couple pictures of the Kessler Crane car rig.

I think the production had it covered, it's not mine so I am not positive...

If it fell into the street...i would probably have cried a little bit, i always seem to be trying sketchy stuff but if its what you gotta do to get the shot...do it!

lol, i'm with you on that...anything for that demo reel...who knows, that one cool shot could be the deciding factor in getting your next big $$$ gig!

very true!
theres another shot on the reel where camera is dollying foward to the couple sitting at the sunset, if I can find a picture of the setup we had for that I will post it, hopefully there arent any producers on this page cause I will probably never work again if they see this picture.... it seems like a lot of times you have to take risks to get cool shots on low budget shoots...
