Monster studiolink 100 cables

Are the monster studio link 100 cables worth buying for location sound?

I have used monster studio link 500 before and they sound great.
Is there a major loss in quality or protection/rejection between the two?

Thanks again,

Justin

No.(Unless you really get a kick out of throwing away money.)

Look for Canare or Mogami cables and Neutrik or Switchcraft connectors.

Monster Cable, by and large, is EXTREMELY overpriced.

The brands Jordan mentioned are cheaper, and you get much more quality for your $.

As long as you are not using absolute crap cables (think tin cans with coat hanger between) what cable you use will make very little difference. I agree with Jordan that Canare or Mogami with Neutrik connectors are some of the best cables but even Pro Con or similar brand pre-made cables will do the job admirably and in most cases you won't be able to tell the difference between the nice cable and the pre-made cable. NO, no way, absolutely NOT. Not only is Monster criminally overpriced, but the company has among the most sleazy business practices of any company you have ever heard of. I would rather use rusty barbed wire than anything from Monster.

Furthermore using "name brand" premium, boutique, snake-oil cable will make no discernible difference in your audio vs. any competent cable. Save your money and put it into the things that WILL make a difference. Typically you get the most bang for the buck by investing in good microphones (and speakers at the other end of the chain.)

HaHa, Monster marketing has been great by making customer think that a cable can actually SOUND something.
When will they make teller that TASTE better ?

Well we also got some video tape brand that make your colors looking better......
