Monster Fest 2009 - Uploading Begins Now

oh man it's about to be storming here soon with tornado and flash flood watches! I hope the power does NOT go out! ehh!
 
"H.264... either .mp4 or .mov" I don't know what "H.264"

Does anyone know how I can make this happen? I wanted to upload my film, but right know I have it in .avi. I think I can convert it to .mp4 but I don't know how to get "H.264". I don't even know much about what that means.
