Neat, as usual.

way oversaturated in the red, if this was done in camera there is no turning back (obviously you know that)

i dont remember them being so bad. this was also a 1 man crew type of deal so it was hard to keep my mind on one thing, i was constantly doing 10 things at once and i also had to worry about sound. how painful is that, f**k sound, thats what i say.

but no excuses.

haha, join the crowd,. Shooting in LA is a gift and a curse. Everyone is a pro, not easy to get help. Usually your amateur actors become the sound and light guys

hey good job though.

You stuff always turns out really good, I like the way you increase the detail in camera when you use it with the M2.

did you light the kids outside?

why would you do all that production for spec?( scratching my head trying to figure out why....oh why) :))

I mean. I know shooting is fun and all...but that project looks like lots of work.

NICE Papaz. As usual! To me, it doesn't have a "commercial" feel but it definitely is very filmic.

The MONSTER DAD hit was nice, I think a good portion of that awesome action was missed with the coverage. I couldn't really see how the kid got creamed. What was the motivation behind shooting it from that direction?

Also, how did you achieve such a clean yet still shallow DOF on the exterior shots? I noticed that your backgrounds were still "legible" in a visual sense. I could see detail in the houses behind the kids, as they walked down the street. It didn't have that "photo DOF" that we see a lot around here.

What lenses were you using for each shot and your camera settings?

You're good with your tools, dude. Lookin forward to j00 camera work on the Kinetica ad.

great stuff

monster dad > all other dads
and who knew monster drink would make you grow a beard!

man.. that's a nice spot. But DAMN.. That Patrik swayze spoof is AWESOME. Can you tell us more about that?

Great stuff all around. Fabulous!

i just set the output to quick time with a custom size of 476 by 268.
i compress the audio by 4:1 at 22.50 i believe is the magic number.

thanks kohli, doug spice n i just shot the spot, we ran out of light and missed a couple of shots. iam hoping he can cut something out of what we have.

I spend time on specs because it is a representation of my work and i want it too look as best as it can with the resources that i have. After all you have to be at least a little proud of your work in order to show it off.

I only did b camera on that, so all the green screen stuff is what i shot and a couple of shots in the m video. it was shot all on the hvx with the stock lens. the original dp on that was damian acevedo, he shot the gnarls barkley - crazy video, a very talented dp.

he was tellin me how they got that effect of pain splashing. I also just met the guy who operated the camera during that CRAZY scene in CHILDREN OF MEN. The one where their all in the car driving on the road when BAM! an attack. he was telling me about the rig they built to pull it off, pretty god daMM amazing.

once again, thank you for all your support, i love posting and checking back to see what you guys think. if you like it then i feel comfortable showing it off.

That's right, boy. Do your work and make it look good. Dunno how that's confusing to anyone.

Vahe there's a few questions I asked on the first page of this thread, can you PM me or take a second to answer them? I'm very interested in how you managed to get such professional results out doors. Again, most of the adapter footage I see has really screwed/skewed DOF. Too shallow but your shooting was awesome.

Thanks in advance!

hey kohli, for those first couple shots, I shot them at f 5.6 because I didnt want the background to go too soft. I wanted the subject to stand out but since the background was so far away it would apear as a bloch of blur if i didnt close down to at least a 4.

also for those first couple shots, i had a 6x grif about 4 feet away from the subject. A griff brings the subject up but not eough to where its obvious that there is a unit bouncing light back unto the subject.

Sick. And what lens did you use for the wide on the group outside and then the medium on the group?

I'm really impressed with the visual quality of the sidewalk scene. It's really cinematic.

Spectacular visuals out class average idea. Great job!

I checke out teh rest of your stuff. SPECTACULAR!

You might want to include some bio or something on your site so you don't apear like a stranger.

Hey man, nice stuff as expected. I agree with you about the reds (and the general yellow cast in the interiors).

I really don't care for the editing on this piece, I feel like all the jokes could have hit much harder. But, you do what you can, yeah?
