Hi everyone, i got a brand new Panasonic AG-HPX370 and i looking for a monopod with quick release . Every quick release i check didnt work with the V-lock or other name used for that camera connection ....Any suggestion ???? Thanks ! Steve
ive got a heavy duty manfrottto monopod i use with my slr's but id never attempt to use it on my 370 as 1) its way too heavy and 2) even if you did find a way to attach it you wouldnt really be able to operate the camera properly .
The wedge on the bottom of the 370 is for securing it into its tripod plate.
I hope you enjoy your new camera Steve and welcome to the forum, theres a good bunch of people here who'll be glad to help you
Thanks Garion ! Well i know is for securing it into tripod plate but im sure i can found a quick release for that .Because, if i use the screw on the monopod i loose some second.... and i need every seconds i can win for that kind of footage http://www.vimeo.com/user941499/videos
HEHE Steve
Very nice shots there Steve, altho i have no idea what the'yre saying the pictures speak for themselves, damn brave fireman there. I thought i saw a little flash banding at the beginning of the video, if youre
shooting 1080 interlace you can assign flash band compensation to a user button and it helps a lot, especially with emergency service vehicle strobes.
Thank you Christian ! Its what i need for my next monopod !!! Thanks Garion for your little Hint i will try that on the next fire
Have a nice day Christian and Garion ! Thanks again and im very enjoy to found that great useful forum !!
I'm not so sure about a 370 on a monopod. Using handycam sized cams, I mount a manfrotto 701 on a typical monopod and it allows me to pan up and down. The pan handle ends up under my arm much of the time and I crank the friction controls fairly tight. You would want something larger than a 701.
Well i understand your point ggrantly ,but with a monopod its faster to connect when i need it and the price its not too much expensive and im not sure i want a manfrotto head with that setup but every setup are great dependly of every choice. Anyway thank you to share your setup ! Steve
Check out the Sachtler SOOM FSB 8 System. I just bought it for my HPX300 and HVX200. It has the zoom tube which quickly detaches from tripod into mono pod with a video head and a foot step. You can tilt, pan and extends out 8 feet. I can't wait to use once I get my scene files under control. The spreader also turns into a baby tripod. You get three tripods in one for little over 3 grand. It supports up to 19.8 pounds.
I finally found another one , a guy in my town, build home made quick release for some tv station so i bought this one and work perfectly . Anyway Thanks for everyone who try to help me for this ! Steve
