This at the moment is what interests me the most before we actually see footage from this new darling. Specifically because I use a calibrated CRT production monitor for all my critical DVX shooting. It has become my crutch actually. Because I can see whats holding and whats not I can often achive very convincing film contrast ranges by adding just the right amount of fill. This is easy on a good monitor. So now with this camera we have a few other options:
1. Use the composite out with my current monitor and hope the SD image is accurate.
2. Buy the under 4K LCD Panasonic HD monitor, and hope the LCD has a higher contrast range than the camera.
3. Buy a Sony CRT HD 9" monitor that will probably cost more than the camera.
If any of you have the Sony HDV how are you doing this? Is there a accurate image comming out the SD line to make exposure and lighting adjustments for HD?
