Hey Folks,

i am recording 4K internally and to the 7Q+. The Oddy RECORDS 4K (4096) but does not DISPLAY 4K. I get what appears to be 16:9 instead of 1.85.

i am sending 4096 via HDMI to the Oddy. I have it set for Sony 4k/UHD to 4K/UHD ProRes.

Again, it does RECORD 4K, but does not DISPLAY 4K.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Robert

It would be nice for them to add this option. I've also had shoots where I was sending 4K RAW, and it didn't click in my head that we were recording wider than what we see in the Odyssey7Q. No big deal, because we were cropping it to 16:9 anyway, but it would be nice to have it adjust or give you that option.

We will have a 17:9 letterbox window option in an upcoming firmware update. I hope it makes it to the next release but I don't know if it will be ready in time.

Thanks Mitch,

I would think it would be a priority to have the capability to monitor any aspect ratio that the Oddy can record.

Y'all take care,
Robert
PS: Put me down for fixing things like this over new features. It will help your revenue and rep in the long run.

We have many priorities, including making sure that whatever we release won't screw up anyone's recordings. So much testing must be done with new features.
