Hello!

sorry for my stupid question, but i have to ask - is there any monitor that will show same info i see on my camcorders lcd? that would be real useful i think ....

regards

If you use the SDI out of the AF100, you can see what's on the EVF. There's an option to turn this on/off. I don't believe there's such
an option for the HDMI output.

While the format is the same, SDI vs. HD-SDI is the bitrate that is supported. "SDI" is (strictly) 480i/p. HD-SDI is
720p and 1080i (at about 1.5Gbs). Any modern equipment supports HD-SDI.

I think you can probably use your dp1x with the AF100 ... although a call to SmallHD would be worth it.

I'm going to guess you want the same thing as me - to have the camera's red peaking and zebras show up in your off board monitor (I have a DP4). I don't think this is possible unfortunately, unless anyone knows different?

yes i ve been dreaming about it too, but i dont think it is possible, as understand that focus assist functions are not transferable from camcorder to external monitors, as i understand u get focus assist on external monitor only if there is a special its own soft inside the monitor.....

I use my co-worker's DP1x with my AF-100 with HDMI. He usually is the director on any shoots we have in the office and will hold it or have it on a separate stand connected to my camera with a 12 foot HDMI. I normally turn the On-Screen Display off because he doesn't need to see all the excess information that I'm seeing. It is much easier to pull a focus using the DP1x because the monitor is so big and has a really nice HD image to boot.

Unfortunately, you cannot see the focus assist function through the HDMI port. I haven't tested it with HD-SDI out because I don't have an HDSDI-supported monitor but I don't think focus-assist would be visible.

if say true .... yes dp1x is big, and i got it as a budget version to work with , but i would not say its perfect for focusing.....as its kind of soft, maybe even washed out a little....., - like 2 weeks ago i was filming the process of local bear ad filming, and they used 2 times smaller monitor - i think it was tv logic - FRICKING sharp ..... very clean image, or maybe its just because the camcorder was ARRI.....

i am not sure how newer small hd models behaves, cant compare it.... locally i cant see anything at all, i always buy cats in bags..... , - dp1x also has terrible navigation buttons.. but it works for now
