Monitor question....

Hi, I'm still fairly new to the GH1. I currently have it (unhacked until my SD card arrives) with an FD adapter and 24mm lens. The ISO is set to 400. I have two questions:

1. Why is the monitor so bright when the picture is not? If I have the lens set to say, 2.8, the monitor is considerably brighter, by a couple of stops. Do I have to callibrate the monitor?

2. Does the ISO match that of film? ie: if I set the ISO to 400, will it have the same sensitivity as 400 stock?

Thanks!

Nick

I think it's about equivalent to ISO 640 at ISO 100 so it's a lot hotter than any film stock. That's why you can light a scene without the huge amount of wattage you would use if shooting film. Go to the SETUP menu and look for the monitor setting. Play with it to get familiar and do what suits you best. You can also change the color and contrast settings but I forget where that is but you'll find it.
