Does anyone know if the monitor output of the HVX200 will require a 4:3 screen (with info displayed above and below the image, like the built-in HVX200 4:3 LCD) or a 16:9 screen with the info overlayed?
I suspect the output will be 16:9 and the data overlays will be superimposed over the image unless they're turned off. Then again there might also be a 4:3 output option.
Good question. Presumably, it will be a signal that's compatible with what mode you're shooting in (i.e., in HD mode or 16:9 SD mode, it'll output 16:9, in DV 4:3 or DVCPRO50 4:3 it'll output 4:3). As Noah said, I would also suspect that the data overlays would be superimposed on the picture (like the DVX does). I can't imagine them requiring a 4:3 HD display just to show the video overlays...
