:o :'(
In the middle of a shoot the camera's monitor went crazy and looks like one of those old T.V. your grandparents had that just had horizontal lines floating up and down.

I remember we had to smack the top of it to get the lines to go away.
I probably shouldn't do that. Even though I want to...

This happened a few days before, so I gave the camera a rest and it was fine an hour later.
This time it never came back.
Lines, lines and more lines. BUT NO PICTURE!
This is a new camera and I am new at using it.
HELP.

Dolby,

What ever became of your camera? The post didn't indicate what happened and I feel like I have just watched a TV cliffhanger :)

No, it's more like a horizontal roll.

It doesn't record like this. It records fine and it looks fine through the eyecup.

You just can't use the monitor.

Gee, I'm sure glad I was in the middle of my firstever film when this happened. :'(

Robert,

Seems like a problem with a board in the camera. I would think that would be covered under warranty.

Disjecta,

Panasonic came through and sent me a new camera and sent the old on to the factory to find out why the boards were corroded. But, I am sure they will never let me know us know. Maybe the new camera will be fine. I'm nervous about having it in the humidity now.
