Monitor for Fs100,mine is dead, looking to buy new one

Hi everyone, I'm looking to buy a new monitor now that my Smallhd6sdi is dead,and i was thinking about the new version of smallhd AC7-sdi lcd or oled:

I will be using the monitor with my FS100 and PMW350, sometimes onboard camera and other times attached to the tripod or on stands, accurate colors is a big advantage even if I know that at this price range i can't ask much but if someone can share experience with these monitors would be a great help..much appreciated and thanks in advance.

one last thing i thing i have found this great offer in an Italian shop. these two monitors for just €2,000 the 17" could be handy for big projects instead of renting it, even if i don't use it that often and i don't know if it can be any good for color correction also!!! her are the two monitors in offer:

I just went through the same thing, kind of. Anyways, I'm staying away from small dp. It seems like their monitors are good for a few years then just die. Ive read countless stories of others going through the same sort of issues with small hd. I ended up going with a manhatten. Not my first choice, but for under a grand it seems like it may work for me. The tvlogic is a nice monitor, if you do get it, please make a post and let us know your thoughts, thanks
 
I've been using the TV logic 5.6 and it's never let me down. Great little monitor that I will likely keep for several years.
 
Well I would like to see a few links to the Small HD issues. I own one and it is great, I had a very tiny (magnet) issue and they were all over it and got it sorted in a matter of hours. I had a Manhattan, didn't like it, didn't like the service or lack thereof from the company. So what exactly happened to your SmallHD6 and did you consider sending it in for repair?

Hi Frank,may I ask you why would you pick the Marshall instead of the Tvlogic?! what model did you see that made you change your mind?!..I'm asking you this because now that my Smallhd is dead i have to buy a new one to use with my Fs100 and PMW350 and i was thinking about the tvlogic 5.6 or the big Marshall:http://www.creativevideo.co.uk/index...s_v-lcd90md-3g
What do you think? do you have any experience with this model!? what do you guys think, bigger screen would be nice! but i can't find any review about it,..

I totally agree with you, they have a great service and that's why i'm considering to buy again from them, unfortunaly i have totally toasted mine and it will cost me a lot to repair it, i'm better with buying a new one,. reverse polarity caused this!! i have attached the monitor with dtap from battery in the wrong way (reverse polarity) and it just got "toasted" with smoke and a bad smell of burning parts, I letterly burned €1,300..the only thing that i can say about smallhd monitor is that just after a few month the sdi didn't work anymore and they offered to repair it and ship it back to me at no cost, but i had to send it back to the U.S.A and pay other taxes when it comes back in Italy again (I know it's strange but this is Italy) so i had to keep it like that!! NO SDI,..I have to say that i have done the same mistake "reverse polarity"with my nanoflash and nothing happened to the nano, I don't know about other monitors, if this can burn other monitors or not,one thing for sure is lesson learned!!! unless i hope so..

I've been saving money for a motorized slider and was ready to buy it,..but now i must put the money for a new monitor and i just hate that but got no choice,.. whatever monitor i'll get i will post back and let you know my thoughts. thank you for your reply and sorry for your smallhd...
 
Too many great options to choose from. What's your budget? The inexpensive Lilliput monitors are quite nice, at least that's what I currently use with my setup.
 
I have just ordered the Marshall V-LCD90MD-3G, I have found many good reviews and feedback about the 5.6 version and my hope is 9" version is alike !! and I like the idea of a bigger screen and all that features in these monitors with their modular design is a big plus for me. I have ordered two types of battery,the V-lock and the L Sony series, both batteries that i use with my 2 cameras,..I thought that maybe in the future i can get my self an EVF or a used 5.6 version of Marshall monitors for top camera mounting.
The monitor will arrive 10 days from now, i will let you know my thoughts about it!!

I love my Marshall 5". Had it for 2 years and have grown to really like the 4 programmable buttons. it gets 30 mins on 4 AA batts.

Yep that's a downside ;(
 
I was wondering if the MDO-3G**3G-SDI Output Module converted from HDMI input will give me the timecode from fs100 to trigger rec with timecode with the nanoflash?!?!? i didn't order this module but if this could work like that i will be ordering it soon,..do you think the module will also give me the timecode from fs100 hdmi output to sdi and from there to nano? did someone tried this module this way,..I think it should work..
