Monitor for 5D

I need to add an external monitor to my 5D MKIII setup and wanted to see what your experiences were with the range of options. I really need it for focus and lighting. I have looked at the $200-300 range all the way to the $1k options. I would appreciate some insight.

I love an EVF. A must for handheld but helps me frame and control my shot. Having a display I look up too often where an EVF holds my attention.
That said I'd go with the Kinotehnik. Has a great screen, great features and the mount is amazing for moving the EVF to suit where the camera is.

So, this works well for getting good focus?

Really well. It has its own focus aids plus I also use magic lantern. It also has a flip up loupe to show the shot, but I run the hdmi out to a client monitor if they want to see the framing. Really great product and the fastest I've tested. Lots of monitor lag and stutter when there is motion in a shot.

If you can wait the new FV EVF is coming out. Better features since the Kinotehnik has a lower res than some of the other ones out right now.
I had an alphatron and I really liked it
