Re: monitor and dvx

I use a RG 58 coaxial cable with female BNC connectors on each end. This is a standard in the 'pro' video industry.

Of course... you will then need a BNC to RCA adapter to fit on the RCA output of your DVX.

Conversely, you could use a 'consumer' video cable with RCA connectors. But, then you would need a RCA to BNC adapter to fit on your monitor's input.

You can go to Radio Shack to get the adapter. All you need is that BNC to RCA adapter. Plug the BNC adapter into the back of the monitor under Video IN then connect a RCA cable (gold connectors) to the RCA female side of the adapter then plug the other end of the RCA cable into your camera. If the monitor happens to have a S-Video jack, you could just use a S-Video cable from the camera to the monitor.

Voytek,

I answered your PM, but just in case...

Radio Shack is one possibility and they seem to be everywhere.

Enter "RG-58 coax" and you will see lots of options.

Here's one option... ($11.99)

Again... you will still need a BNC to RCA adapter (approx $4.00).

You could even buy the cable in bulk along with several BNC connectors and a crimp tool and make as many as you want forevermore.

This is the preferred method as the RG-58 cable is far superior to the cheap little consumer video cables with yellow ends that terminate in RCA plugs.

Of course, the consumer video cables will work... it's just that the heavy duty cable is less likely to have signal loss or interference.
