Monitor a 5D or 7D in HD on a Dell 10" Laptop using HDMI?

After watching a bunch of Vimeo videos of people "hackintosh"-ing Dell laptops to seamlessly run Apple Snow Leopard on them, and after having a horrible experience monitoring a Canon 7D through an AJA HDMI to HD SDI on a Marshall monitor, I'm wondering if it is possible to monitor the Canon 5D or Canon 7D, in HD on the screen of a Dell 10, mini-laptop?

I'm envisioning setting that little computer on a platform on a combo stand and it looking super sweet. Have you attempted this? Will it work?

There's always EOS Utility, which allows you to monitor off your computer screen. Unfortunately it won't display full screen.

I have a Dell Mini 10 with HDMI and I was under the impression that the HDMI was output only. It's anemic at best, BTW.... Won't play stutter-free 720p video out the HDMI to my plasma for instance

I use the lilliput LCD and Yesterday my HDMI Mini to hdmi adapter Broke, so I had to Use the USB VGA Output to DVI on the lilliput and Low ans Behold, The Image Clarity for Focusing was Amazing.. When at full digital Zoom i was able to focus better then using HDMI out, it seems the color Black is more Pronounced and lets you focus better, also the screen stays wide while displaying Info, unlike HDMI that letter boxes..
