Mojo install

Help!

I just bought a used mojo and am trying to install it. My pc wizard doesn't pop up and recognize the new hardware attached to it. I've tried several different firewire ports, but nothing happens. The guy that sold it to me mentioned adding 'drivers' to the system, but I'm not getting anywhere, and my system id is expired for any help over the phone with Avid, not to mention this is a Saturday and I don't think there's anyone around anyway.

Any mojo installers out there?

Thanks,

There is FPGA firmware that gets loaded on the Mojo when the editing application is installed - but there is no separate Mojo installer drivers or software. Make sure the unit is on a proper FireWire port and that no other devices share the same bus.

The OS should see it as new hardware. Check the PDF documentation with the Avid installer for instructions on installing the Mojo.

The PDF file says ZERO about actually installing the mojo. It tells tons about hooking up other machines, but not anything in terms of step 1,2,3.

The huge fold-out poster that comes with it is very simple which is great, but still no luck, which is why I wish the PDF had more meat to it. I'll quote from poster, skipping steps one and two and citing #3, "Connect the cable from the power adapter to the wall outlet or power strip. Connect the cable from the power adapter to the Avid Mojo DNA. Connect the firewire cable to the Avid Mojo DNA and to the system."

Step 4: "If the Avid Mojo DNA is connected to a PC, install the Avid Mojo DNA driver: a. A Found New Hardware Wizard opens. Click Next. b. The software loads....................yada yada yada.

My problem is I've done all this and my PC isn't recognizing new hardware, yet it pops up for my MP3 players and digi cameras, so I don't think it's a problem with my computer. I already have Xpress Pro installed, and am hooking up the mojo into every firewire port with no luck. So I'm wondering about the above instruction, where it says, "install the driver."

Anybody out there have similar experience?

Hey all,

Disregard my last post--now it's not working at all.

It looks like it's a power issue. I bought the mojo without the ac adapter that comes with it, checking the specs, it seems that it needs a 9v dc output. I used a different adapter that used to go to a mini dv rewinder, and although it fits the mojo, and when connected, the lights on the tower would come on, it still wouldn't work. I tried different adapters and the same thing happened. After switching back and forth, somehow, I don't know why, it just decided to fire up correctly, and my computer recognized it and everything was fine. This was very early in the morning, so I turned off everything, went to bed, woke up and turned everything on and the same thing happened all over again, except this time it's definitely not being seen as 'new hardware added' by the computer. The guy I bought it from ordered a new cord for me from a reseller in San Francisco, so I'll try again tomorrow. Re-reading the pdf file about the mojo, it says that without the right voltage/power, it can't do self-diagnostics correctly, and when that happens, the tower lights blink on/off once a second, which is what's happening now. Operator error on my part.
