Hello to everyone, it's been a long time since I've been back here. I have been quite busy recently now actually for the past three years. It has been longtime. Now I live in Shanghai, China , use to live in Santa Monica, California ,anyway let me tell you about Mohammed Project this is the short film that I'd done four years ago I shot at with original dvx 100 ntsc, when it first came out I got the camera. It took four days of actual principal photography , one and a half of week editing and four years , tucked away in my suitcase since I start of traveling to Europe and Asia. So now , I found youtube.com Web site , and I uploaded. There are three parts to the film, it is 18 minutes long. I have actually shown this film , to some of my Muslim friends back in Los Angeles and they liked it a lot , because the leading protagonist is a Muslim man with a redeeming quality. This will be the first time that I shown it international or anywhere for that matter. Please let me know what you think.

When i saw the title of your project i thought, oh man more controversy. It's a great movie, and I am a muslim and it's not offensive at all.
However, some point. 1. It's very stereotyped about muslims. i.e. the music in the background etc.
2. The way the muslims is praying is totally incorrect, no muslim prays like that, no muslim would leave the koran on the ground
3.the sound wasn't great
4. I have to be really honest, i don't get it, does he work for the CIA and kill bad guys!!???If so, man that doesn't work.

If you're interested i'm working on a very controversial project about John Lindh Walker, it's a not bio of him as such, nor a reasoning of why he did it, nor a analysis of the american dream. It's an existential docu-drama, a character study providing no reasons for the the bad guy is the way he is. That's not to say John Walker was a bad guy. It's just the way it was.

PS - i want that track in the middle of the movie!! It's great. you know that guy singing.

Yas,Thank you for your comments . I really appreciate that . What's funny is that I had a Moslem adviser a Afghan freedom fighter who was basically teaching the actor how to pray in Islam Way and was on the set when we shot that scene he did not mention anything about the koran on the ground. The other thing about sound, what kills me most that I paid over 1000 US for the sound audio and effects such as ADR work. The sound definitely needs some more tweaking. What's interesting is when I did show this to few people(maybe 10) back in Los Angeles . Some understood it (The Ending), and some Just did not get it at first. but after a little while , they get. The ending its based on Greek myths . Actually it will be an interesting study to see how everyone here perceives and understand the ending of the film. I think it will give us a little insight in how we look at things as the filmmakers. Yas, I think a project about John Lindh Walker is a great subject matter, it is something that I think a large majority of people would like to know more about, I would love to be part of it . but unfortunately , or fortunately , depends on how you look at it . I live in Shanghai . I have a production company here so it if you decide to filmed in Shanghai or any other projects that you would like to shoot in China, I can help you. peace

I would have words with the muslim adviser, cos he is talking BS. By the way the track in the middle of the movie - what is it?

I liked the music.

That guy is definatly praying wrong, lol, but he may be a different branch of Islam, I've only seen Shiat's pray, not Sunnis. Did someone teach him how to pray? or did he know?

There isn't a different branch in that sense. He wasn't even making any of the proper movements. His sujud was wrong and I didn't see him Tasleem at all

I have to concur - it wasn't even remotely muslim praying, that advisor of yours needs some ass kicking!Branch of islam doesnt even enter into it.

Yas, I think you are referring to a song that's called "sweet pain" sung by Nusrat Fateh . I too love his voice. Yas, how would you have devised the actor and me in the praying scene what do have him do different? and if anyone wants to tell me what they see or feel about the ending do tell me. I want to hear from you all. Thank you.

yes the sound needs more tweaking...even a normal movie goer will notice it. I can notice the audio changes in the conversation. I'm not an audio expert or anything but I think you need to at least add some audio crossover fades for some of the scenes.

Nusrat Fateh Khan rocks. How would i tell the guy to pray. Easy way. Sit on his knees, head semi down, on a prayer mat, with his hands open. That's it.

slinks, the only thing I have with me from Mohammed film here in China is the master in DVD format . is it possible to tweak the audio at this stage? ,How would you classified this film? I have never shown the film in any film Festival and just might do it in Shanghai . again what does everyone think about the ending? Just for my own studies . to get some knowledge from my fellow filmmakers. Thank you.

I would love to get more feedback from the filmmakers here as in what do you think about this ending? Is it confusing or is it simple? I just Wanna know how everyone in this fantastic site sees it? A personal study. Constructive criticism is welcome.
