MODS - GH2 Section? This page is now 90% GH2 threads - GH1ers are drowning in them!

Just a request to get a dedicated GH2 section, as this one is now so awash with GH2 threads that they dominate, and I fear it will only become more so....

+1 Let's keep the forum arranged by topic. At least the GH1 and GH2 forums should be put in separate subfolders, like the hacked GH13 is separated out.
 
I would happier with GH2 being a sub forum of GH1. That way I can easily check out m43 related hardware threads, and even the GH13 hack threads. When the time comes a GH2 HACK subforum within the GH1 forum would be equally appropriate. Keep things horizontal rather than vertical, and users have more choices.
 
As this whole section of DVXuser is dedicated to the panasonic camera, it should probably be renamed Panasonic GHx, Or Panasonic M4/3rds.
Then it could cover GH1, GH13, GH2 and GF1 and 2.
 
Seriously, mods save yourself the headache of straining out the gh2 threads later on. Its only fair to Gh1 users.
 
whats a GH2? never heard of it :smile:

GH2 subsection within GH1 section to keep all GH users in one place.
i like seeing/reading all the GH2 stuff, i'm not jealous as the GH1/GH13 is still a contender :smile:

Just rename the section to m4/3s and be done with it. What ever the hot topic is will float to the top. Whether it is GH1, GH13, GF13, GF2, or GH2 news it doesn't matter to me because it is all good news. :)
 
we'll do something soon.... trying to finalize the re-structuring of the entire forum, not just a gh2 sub-section or dedicated section...
 
Oh good. Are we talking about a radical restructuring, like changing the name of the forum (to reflect that the DVX100 is pretty old now) and the whole ethos, or just moving some sections around a bit?
 
changing the name of a website that has spent 7 years building an identity under that name, is not something to be taken lightly. names are important, and "dvxuser" is more a "brand name" than it is representative of any one camera.

You'd be surprised how many people join this site nowadays and don't even know what the origin of the "dvx" in dvxuser is... So, let's just say "DVX" in DVXuser stands for "Digital Video Xtreme" User. :evil:

our name is our identity, and a name change can kill your identity in short order if you aren't careful. We once toyed with changing the name to 24puser, but what would we call the fests? 24pfest? that's lame and generic :)

dvxuser is our identity, and a part of our history. It's not camera specific. but it is who we are. Not to say a name change would never happen, but it seems a rather counter-productive thing to do right now, and obviously our name isn't hurting our growth... In fact, we could do with a bit less growth, and more specific focus, to be honest... Trying to be all things to all people is a pretty impossible task (lest you become overly generic). focus is important, as is maintaining a sense of identity and history with our roots.
