Modo35. Anyone?

in my experience, bigger achromat lens doesnt necessarily mean better. Case in point was an indian made ASIAN brand 72mm achromat, terrible CA and soft corners and edges.
Next was the first gen 72mm Cinevate which was similar to the first gen redrock. Better than the Asian but still had considerable CA at the sides.

What worked in my set up was the SG pro achromat, while housed in a 72mm ring and thread, the actual optics was much smaller, probably 55mm only.

So I would say its not the achromat size but quality of the glass and its magnifying power.

Seems like it is due to the small achromat.
Have you contacted the seller to see if he can provide a large achromat of the same quality?

Well, the seller was informed about the camera I want to use it before I ordered it because we talked about it via email. He said that the adapter will do the job.
Now, even if he send me another achromat i will not be able to replace it due to lack of time.
I know that the installation is not very straight forward procedure but i was hoping that it would only take adjustments to get it going!

I guess that i should buy a letus or a brevis to get professional quality results!

Which gg did you purchase with it?

Get rr1 and rr2. From what I read the rr2 has a more beautiful bokeh. Rr1 is close to the letus ultimate and better for low light than rr2.

It would have taken 4 days to get but ended up being 5-6. ups messed up. All in all in was fast shipping. U can't lose with the sgblade. it's probably the best spinner for the money. And customer service is A+.

The SGblade will give you a totaly vignette free picture (at least it does that with my hmc151) and a picture that beats pretty much anything else I've seen on the adapter front.

The Rotorazor 1 is a bit more sharper, and the Rotorazor 2 is a bit softer (allthough they're both dead sharp on a focus chart so you'll never loose sharpness in that way). It's just the overall look.

When it comes to lightloss it's barely that you notice any difference on that front, it is mostly the bokeh and filmic/less-filmic-more-digital feeling. It all depens what you're out after.

The service is the best I've seen, read my "thank you shoot35" thread and you'll know why.

Good luck!

Hi,
George, what happened with your modo35, did you make it work somehow?
I have the same adapter and hmc150 camera, and same vignetting and CA problems..
