MODEL PHOTOSHOOT GRABS (comment please!)

I just obtained a new client who is a commercial entity in import fashions. I recommended that we have a photo shoot for them. So my partner and I threw together models, make-up artists, and a photographer. I thought wow, what a perfect opportunity for my DVX ;D So I filmed the making of the shoot. I actually ended up doing half the photography as well which you can see at the bottom shot entirley by me, on a Sony DSC-F828 8) Man I love my job. :)

Still savin' for Premeir and AE to bring you guys those moving pictures :'(

BY THE WAY DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THOSE LITTLE CLEAR BARS ARE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE IMAGE????? :o

Those are some pretty sweet images. That's really cool what you're doing..

I don't know Bluspider personally, but by the looks of his avatar and the pictures of those young ladies I'm guessing he might be undressing them in his head and doesn't want to go to jail...

Sorry Chucks, I just notice that. I guess it's just bad timming on my part. :( But one of the things I hate most in life is petafiles!

Some nice shots. I like the 7th (last DVX shot) the best. Nice framing and the background looks nice .

A few thoughts...

In the 2nd picture, there's a bit too much headroom and I probably would have moved left to frame the girl a little bit more in the left of the frame. I like 3 but I'd probably like to see her chin (zoom out a touch)

Some of the wide shots look a little soft. Were you shooting thick or thin? If you were shooting thick, maybe shoot thin next time.

the girl with the electric blue background #3?..maybe could have been lit better. You see the shadows under her eyes? the framing is not very flattering--looks pretty harsh there.

looks like it was fun!

The last dvx shot is the best. #1,3,4, & 7 are framed nicely. Some of the others are too far to the left, right, or too much headroom. Might be the grab you choose. Was the dvx handheld?

You don't need premiere or ae to submit video. Open up windows movie maker and piece something together. :D Nice stuff.

Thanks P.K. The DVX was actually on a tripod but the grabs are all taken from moving shots. so I got a little blur. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THOSE CLEAR BARS ON THE RIGHT ARE?

What scene file were you shooting on?  What program did you edit on? Do the bars come up when the footage is playing?

The camera is brand spankin new. The bars dont show on TV ??? To capture I am using watever that is that shows the video when I double click the camera under "MY COMPUTER" :'(

I actually noticed the same bars in disjecta's January DVXFest entry too. Never saw it before then (that I've noticed).

Steven? Any ideas? Are you guys using the same NLE by chance?

EDIT:
Specifically at the 2 minute mark in Steven's film when it cuts to the editing bay. I don't notice it in any of the nature footage, just the stuff in the house. Doing anything different inside than usual?

Not sure, it's not visible in my NLE at all. It seems to be related, for me anyway, to the Quicktime compression. I haven't seen any evidence of these lines anywhere on my timeline. I just checked it frame by frame.

Very odd.
