Seeking production assistants to work a 1 day shoot at a Pankration rules Mixed Martial Arts tournament in San Diego this Saturday. Call time is 9am. Shoot lasts until the last match ends. Shouldn't go over a 10 hour day, If it does, OT at 1.5 times the hourly rate will be added to payment.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Helping to keep the floor clear of spectators.
- Advising competitors who are not fighting, or those not waiting for a fight, to clear the mats.
- Serving as a back-up camera operator for when camera ops need to take meal breaks, use the restroom, etc.
- Provide general assistance to camera operators
- Go on meal runs
- Field tapes
Production assistants cannot be shy about telling people (politely yet firmly) to clear an area. Telling people to clear out of areas is going to be very important and will need to be done continually throughout the shoot.
Camera operating skills are a plus. Online or hard copy demos encouraged.
There will be at least three mats going during the tournament with three camera operators stationed at each mat and two production assistants assigned to each mat. Crew members will need to have good communication skills. Headsets will be utilized so that camera operators, and those that serve as back-ups, can talk to each other while shooting in order to work as a team and ensure that maximum coverage is obtained. All PAs will be supplied with headsets.
Applicants must be team players who posses a positive "get things done" attitude.
Valid driver's license required.
No flakes!
Please state your (10 hour) day rate when inquiring about the open positions.
If this sounds like something you would be interested in taking part in, or have questions, please contact me via e-mail at ellago@grappletv.com
