MLB playoffs

lol. ya i know theres real fans, but its like the stadium fans, you know the giants fans are bad too though, ive been there a buncha times to watch the dodgers, and its all punk kids looking for fights and dont even know what a sac bunt is.

Well, it's 2-1 Mets over the Dodgers and the announcers have pretty much crowned the Mets the National League Champions.

Punk kids?

The last time that I went to Pac Bell (or whatever they call it now) it was all women in high heels and evening wear asking their Armani suited dates to get them some sushi and a nice pinot at the concession stand.

guess it depends on what section you're in?

I thought that I was in the cheap seats. At least, they were the cheapest that I could find outside of the bleachers.

we almost get in fights all the time, harrased by drunk 20 somethings in safeway when we goto get some drinks before the game. One guy brought up an argument saying Kent was on roids....and then got mad at the expected Bonds joke. LOL

I have missed 14 games this season... and I wont ban someone for saying something against the Yankees (for a first offense)

Well, I said my peace, so I won't make a second. That is, unless there is a Yankee-A's ALCS. Then, the offenses and bans might start rolling like Bonds steroid allegations.

I'm saying my prayers for a Yanks- A's series...it will be interesting. I'd rather play the yanks than the tigers, just because I don't know any tigers fans to harass when the A's win!

My general feeling is that if you can go positions 1-9 and name your players (including your starting rotation with relief) then you are allowed to discuss baseball in my pressence. If you can't then you're not a real fan.

Outside of DVXUser my #1 most visited site is yankees.com. From there it was redsox.com (because you should know your enemy). In hindsight I guess it should have been bluejays.com because look who took second in the east :)

All things considered I just wish people would come at the Yankees with a better argument than the payroll. I've heard it, but the Mets, Red Sox, Angels, and Cubs are all massive payroll teams. Even the Dodgers.

Clubs like MN, OAK, KC, and FL can rage a payroll diatribe all day long... Then again, Oakland spent money this offseason and got the Hurt, and the Hurt is looking good so far. Nice ground rule double today and nice lead off home run (that second one I will just leave out of discussion).

I agree on the money thing. The Yankees have a potent lineup, but where's the pitching. You have to find a way to get the ball to Rivera...

If it was just about money, the Yankees would win the series every year...there's a lot more to putting together a championship team than opening the wallet. Of course, the willingness to spend never hurts.

Well, I just think that overall it is much more difficult to have to work with a lower payroll. It is one thing to have a low payroll and then stink. But, to have a low payroll and do well year in and year out, it says something about quality management. I guess that I am just one of those computer game nerds who loves the management aspects as much or more than the actual on field play.

But, since you brought up the Big Hurt who is laying some pretty sizable hurt on the Twins, the A's got him for a steal because of health questions. I think he is another example of a sweet deal by Billy Beane.

Which reminds of something that a Yankee fan and an A's fan can agree on ... thank god that Billy Beane didn't head to Boston in 2002.

I actually think that it is directly because of the money sometimes that the Yankees don't win it every year. It is a double edged sword. Sure you pick up the best players with the bucks, but you also pick up a bunch of baggage as well. When it comes down to it, I think that team chemistry is as important as individual play. When you see a team having a good time with each other playing a game, you know that something is going right.

This is off of memory today:

Kendall
Kotsay
Bradley
Thomas
Chavez
Swisher
Scutaro
Ellis

E.Lo
Calero
Duscherer
Street

that was todays lineup i believe, ellis and scutaro maybe mixed up, ive developeda huge headache, i can name more though if need be :)

Dodgers, baby, all the way! Born and bred on the Big Blue!

Yeah, that play at home tonight was embarassing. Kent is needs to have his eyes checked if he thought that he, AND Drew, could score. I don't think Drew rounded third until after the relay was already into the infield. I don't think Kent thought the ball came off the wall that hard.

I'm not that big a Jeff Kent fan, really. But he's got the Dodger Blue on, so I tolerate him.
