Mixing P2 Footage with DV

I've started shooting weddings, and my camera is the HVX200A. I'm shooting to tape right now, but looking forward to graduating to the P2 media so I can shoot HD. I've realized how helpful it is to have a second camera, even if it's only mounted on a tripod somewhere for cutaways, so I'm wondering, while I'm still going to have to do a few single camera jobs before and can make any more investments, would I run into trouble if I bought, say a DVX and, when I finally get P2 for the HVX, put the footage from both types of media on the same timeline?

Thanks,

You could easily do that in EDIUS, Vegas, or Premiere Pro. Users of other NLEs would have to weigh in to tell you whether it'd work in their NLE.

P2 is a workflow/data storage option, not a codec. If you shoot SD to mini DV tape on the DVX and SD to the P2 cards it should match up fine because the files should be the same. If you mix HD and SD in your sequence/timeline, you may run into some issues with settings, but there are ways to work around them.
