Mixing M2+hvx200 footage with raw hvx200 footage

Hi,

we are in the pre-production phase of an action short movie what i really wanna know is, i am going to use m2 cinema adaptor and nikon pro grade lenses with my hvx200 but we are also going to shoot some glidecam shots for smooth camera movements, as we all know it is almost impossible to adjust focus while shooting on glidecam but i really want the cinema look so my solution is to shoot most of the movie with the m2 adapter and the rest with glidecam, so i am curious, my raw hvx200 footage can be edited with my 35mm feel hvx200 footage or not? any ideas?

I have mixed footage and it worked fine although I shot with this in mind and the shots that were with out adaptor (glidcam shots) where done in a way that the greater DOF complemented the scene.

I have also shot with a larger steadycam and M2 adaptor which worked great.
I just ran with either a hyper focal distance on the lens or used a Scorpio wireless follow focus for the wide open shots.
if you have the resources do not be afraid of trying the steadycam with M2 although if all you have is a standard follow focus plus whip it can be quite hard to pull focus or have your 1st AC pull and not compromise the steadycam motion unless you run stopped down with a hyper focal distance.

I mixed M2/HVX footage with bare-HVX /steadicam Merlin footage, and it mixed perfectly, because during tracking shots at 24p, the motion blur you get can often give you a feel similar to shallow Depth of field. Also, most stabilizer shots have a wider angle, in which more things are in focus anyway.

Your plan sounds like a good one.
