Mixing HPX170 and EX1 Footage

Hi,

I am shooting part of a project on my camera, the HPX170. The other part of the project is being shot by a different DP in a different country with an EX1. Both cameras are going to have 35mm adapters with identical Zeiss lens sets.

Is there anything I should look out for to avoid any problems? We are both shooting 720p 24p. Aren't the frames sizes different between the camera, even in 720p (ie. 1280x720 vs. whatever the EX1 uses), or are they the same? Any tips to try to match the camera settings? We are trying to go for a clean look so we can match them better in post.

Thanks guys

To be honest the only cam in this price range that can match up well with the hpx is the canon a1. I've yet to see a succesful match from the ex1.

I may be doing the same as well very soon...EX1 and HPX170 mix.

I am not concerned about the resolution mix as DVCPro HD expands to 1920x1080. The colors are what concern me. My EX1 is setup so that it shows "true color" and I think we may just put the HPX170 on HD Norm and everything else zeroed. Then everything will be color corrected to match later on.

it's not going to be just a color issue. getting a good artist to do the grading will solve that issue. it's just the fact that the ex1 is going to give you a different kind of retarded sharp image that is totally unlike anything panny produces. are u shooting 1080 out of the hpx? they just produce a very different kind of image, and neither one is better in my opinion, just different.
