Mixing 24P NORMAL & 24P SQUEEZE footage

I'm working on a doc where I've been filming in 24PA Normal Mode on the DVX100B. I've shot more than 50% for the doc in 4:3 & unfortunately just began to realize how everything is 16:9 & HD nowadays. (Yes, I wished I would have thought about this earlier.)

So I'm wondering whether I should switch to 24PA Squeeze Mode for the remainder of my filming. And if I do this, will my Normal Mode footage mix with the Squeeze footage? (Can such footage be mixed easily in FCP?)

Or should I just continue to shoot in 24PA Normal Mode and make changes in post?

Btw, it's my hope that the film screens into festivals and will definitely be available in DVD.

Thanks in advance!

I would finish shooting in squeeze. Then letterbox the rest of your footage in FCP and export as 16:9 SD... Nowadays, 16:9 looks better and then you can play it back on HDTV's.
