mixing 1080/24p and 720/30p in same FCP7 timeline

For a doc-film I plan to start shooting later this summer with my GH1, I hope to master in 1080p but I would need to shoot scenes involving some fast action.

Since 720/30p would be much better suited for these segments, is it OK to add 720/30p footage to a 1080/24p timeline? I planne0d for the interview segments to be shot in 1080/24p and any scenes involving steadicam shots to be filmed in 720/30p.

i also ask myself that...wondering if the output is affected especially blown in a big screen.I dont have the answer and hope someone does.
 
I would recommend using 720p60, it converts to 24p more smoothly than 30p. It takes a while to process, but the result is excellent. The motion is smooth and footage looks great. It's a must read.

Make sure to convert the footage to 1920x1080 using the geometry tab of compressor, and pick the same codec you are using for the rest of your 1080p footage. Then you won't have to worry about scaling and re-rendering in the timeline.

720p60 also makes for great slow motion if you increase your shutter speed to 125. This can be achieved instantly using cinema tools.
