mixed lighting problem for a wedding

hey all. i had to shoot a wedding a couple years back that was a nightmare to white balance. the venue had really big windows and the lights on the inside were those candle like bulbs. the wedding took place around 5 in the afternoon so the sun was going down during most of the wedding. I tried my best to white balance as much as i could, but when i went to edited the footage, i found myself color correcting almost every scene, and i'm not that good at that sort of thing. Is there anything i could have done different shooting wise? I've done weddings before and never had that kind of a problem. thanks

Jon this is going to happen in a lot of mixed lighting (live shooting). The important thing is to never be too far at either end of the scale. Try to get a middle white balance thats about 50/50 from both sources. As long as you stay clear of the extremes you will always have a good start point to go with when you get to edit.
