Missmatched SSD error?

Hi guys, my 7Q arrived yesterday and I am doing my first steps with it. Does anybody know what
this "missmatched SSD error" means? I couldn't find details about it. Unfortunately I have a 9hrs
time shift with CD support and I get the answers not until my next working day. Thanks!

This seems to be a "feature" of the initial beta release firmware. The only time that message disappears is when both SSD's are freshly re-formatted. Right now, one can't record in the slo-mo RAID mode and record in the non-RAID mode simultaneously, hence this error message. For all intents and purposes, I just ignore it.

Be lucky you are not an early adapter. I got one of the early 7Qs when nobody knew about this (including tech support) and it drove me INSANE! It happens when you change frame rates using the S&Q button. The way to avoid it is:

I cut and pasted this from a previous thread

a) You can mix frame rates (24, 60 and 120); but right now it's better to just use 1 card for that. If you have 2 cards in, when you hit the S&Q button to switch frame rates, a "Miss-Matched SSD" error comes up and won't go away till you shut down. It does not affect the footage, but psychologically it's really hard to work with a flashing error message. If you absolutely want to use 2 cards (it is more convenient for storage space), before you switch frame rates you need to un-plug the BNC cable, switch the frame rate, then re-plug the BNC cable to avoid the dreaded Miss-Matched SSD error. Painful. I say just use 1 card for now.

b) I would just use the Record button on the LCD until the firmware upgrade comes out. Right now, if you use Camera trigger and switch frame rates with the S&Q button, it can crash the 7Q and then you have to un-plug the battery and re-boot.

If you avoid those 2 issues, the 7Q runs great. I had no problems at all after figuring that out, but if you don't know that, you will go crazy

240fps works flawlessly. Just don't mix frame rates with 240fps. It's actually easy to forget this when you are run-and-gun and turn off the camera to change a lens and the camera defaults back to 24fps. I actually did that by accident. Be very mindful when you are shooting 240fps of not accidentally mixing frame rates.

The strange thing is, if you accidental change frame rates with 240fps, you can still shoot 24fps, but it just won't go back to 240fps until you format the card.

thanks Gene, very helpful hints! but nevertheless I feel like an early adopter ;-)

edit:
got an email from CD support. Thanks to an early bird at work we have a small overlap in working hours.
They wrote "caused from recording 24fps recording then trying to record 240 fps recording"
But I started with 25pfs in PAL country and did not change frame-rate up to now

Not quite completely true. Yes, of course it will happen when switching from 24fps to 240pfs because it's not supported right now. But it WILL happen also when switching between 24, 60 and 120 when there are 2 cards in the 7Q. The best way to avoid the Mismatched error is to just use 1 card at a time. I only use 2 if I want to shoot 240fps.

sounds reasonable, thanks again, Gene
(as I wrote I am at the first steps beside regular work,
without battery plate :-/ and still in demo mode)
