Bought a used DVX100B a few months back and am still learning how to use it and have a strange problem I cannot figure out. I shot a high school play for which I took a feed off a sound board via the XLR input. All recorded fine and play back fine. I used 2 tapes and the first tape imported to my computer without any problem. When I imported the 2nd tape onto my computer, the sound from the first 2 scenes of the play is completely missing even though I can hear it playing through the computer speakers just fine. At the beginning of the 3rd scene, the sound starts recording again. Adding to the mystery, this is a used tape and the first half second of the previously taped program imports as expected and can be heard in the imported file. I have tried importing into both iMovie and Final Cut. I also have tried using a different camera to import from. Same results. Could this be some flaw in the tape or did I inadvertently change some setting between the 2nd and 3rd scenes? (When I shot the play, I hit the pause button between scenes. Could I have changed something else on the camera that would do this?)
