Hello sorry for repeating the quetion..i am about to buy one of the two lens on an ebay auction and would like to have info before auction end
Ii own a gh3 and always been using, with satisfaction, MD/MC lenses
Now i find out i might use AF lenses, but it seems a bit more complicated
i would like to know what differences are in using these 2 system
Expecially i am looking to buy 70/210 f4 available in MD and AF, the latter seems lighet in weight
Who can explain me about thes things?
thanks a lot

I think the only non-Micro 4/3 lenses where the AF actually works with the GH3 / GH4 are some of the Canon EF lenses, and even with these the AF can be slow to respond.

i.e. I wouldn't buy Minolta AF lenses hoping to use the AF features

no i am not looking to use the af feature..looking for AF lenses it is just an option more for choice when buying a vintage lens.also af lenses fr the 71 210 is lighter in weight...

The Minolta AF 70-210mm f/4 "beercan" zoom has good reviews, especially for image sharpness, so as long as the lens you are buying is in good mechanical condition it should be a good buy.

According to this chart it's a heavier lens, but I don't mind extra weight if the optical quality is better. ( the constant f/4 aperture is another feature I would want )

yes..there is the MD version with constant aperture. do you know if there is difference in quality?

Sorry, I haven't used this lens myself. From the reviews I've read both the MD and AF versions of the 70-210 f/4.0 zoom are significantly sharper than the non-constant aperture Minolta zooms, so I would expect to see good performance from either of the f/4.0 lenses.

those vivtar seems good.i am looking for a zoom not a prime though.i have md 35 70 and that 70 210 seemed to me good companion.anything similar from vivitar?
