Minolta lenses

I've shot with Minolta lens (film SLR) for the last 21 years. Like any manufacturer, there's a range of glass in the lineup but the Rokkor MD lenses are generally quite good with respect to spherical and chromatic issues. I have found fairly high levels of barrel distortion with the 50mm f1.4, but other than that, it's a great lens. The one issue with them these days is that it's hard to find a fast set of 28, 50, 85 and 135mm lenses using Minolata MD mounts. We've supported this mount type on the Brevis for over a year now..and we don't sell very many.

I just bought a 135/2.8 and a 28mm/2.8 for less than Euro 60.
So they are out there. I will find a faster 28mm (probably go for 24 anyway), but the 135 in 2.8 is a good deal.

50s are tons around, especially if you are fine with 1.7 which is still good glass. What I really miss is a 100mm Macro lens. THEY are hard to find.

Good finds! It's amazing what you'll find (for next to nothing) by visiting a local pawn shop. By far the best lenses I've seen "scored" here have not been from ebay, but small shops where the owners figure the demand for old SLR lenses is about zero. My Canon FD 50mm f1.4, and 135mm f2.8 came from my neighbour....free :-)
