I was just wondering what you guys would say is the minimum requirement for your PC when editing the footage from HVX200, be it DV or HD format...

?

I have 3Ghz, 1.2 gb ram..
oh.. and it's a PC.. :(

I've been editing for some time with miniDV, but never HD.. so I would like to know if what I have is enough..
 
The quickest way to find out would be to check the system requirements specified by the software company that makes your flavor of editing software. These requirements will vary greatly from product to product.

Also, what I consider to be editing may be different than your style of editing. e.g. I may prefer simple cuts and dissolves where as you may want 20+ layers of video and FX and color treatments. Obviously, our two systems CAN'T be the same specs.
 
Well, I've tried out editing 720p to, and it went "ok".. this was not though, my own uncompressed hd footage. +This was just simple cutting etc.. though with DV i've done some lightsaber stuff, cloning and alot of image & color adjustment, which works out smoothly, but have yet to try with HD footage..

Still haven't gotten my HVX, but can't wait till I do!
