Hey BRM...Not too sure how your mind works yet but do look forward to your postings as they are most definately different. What intigues me is that you never seem to know where you are at or how you got there? Kind of reminds me of my life ;D
I was preparing to shut it down, turn off the lights ...
and looking at my post,
I thought that no one would follow up my,
lengthy, "emotional", perhaps morose, msg
but...your responses are too
f***ing provocative for me to pass up
This one is for mino monte and me
I am grieving the "loss of a loved one"
I use the forums selfishly
in this case "to ease my pain" and help me release
All my posts are SELFISH
and I believe,
are considered garbage, arrogant, drunken, insane or...
Except for one or a few that may benifit.
I "play the fool" so that I may enjoy my existence, and
perhaps, assist another...
mino, I do not have a clue how your mind works,
I do know that we are "kindred spirits"
I lead with my heart - keep an eye on that and you will see
I'm an piece o' cake to figure out.
me mind is all over the board...
if you do figure it out, or think you have figured it out,
pleeeeeeezeeee let me know
I will write you into my Will
monte, if I may be so brazen:
get rid of the shame - don't do nobody no good
what is 600?
copy - paste:
I base a person's personal worth soley on the fact of whether or not they have the same camera as me.
..........
Although I am blessed with
(or, perhaps, cursed with...needing some sleep...)
a multitude of NW Coast images running through my mind...
the 15 or 20 pound Salmon making it's way upstream,
at times, having but and inch or two of water,
Rich you always seem to come up the unusual cool posts…
OK, that’s hard to follow - on many levels. :
I flew AH-1s in the Army and have a lot of experience with 7.62 Vulcan miniguns. I too am a big fan of Roger Waters and love “Amused to Death” although I don’t always agree with his over simplification of life. It is nice to think, “can’t we all just get along” but we do not seem to be able too.
When I got out of the military the AH-64 Apache was just starting service, I never got to fly one. Nevertheless, the AH-1S had a 7.62 Vulcan minigun in the turret and anywhere you looked the gun would follow – it was a bit like a video game.
Anyway, here is a picture of some of the 128th Aviation cobras flying in formation. This photo has not been retouched; this is actually how it was in the early ‘70’s [check out those blades]
Good to hear you enjoy Roger waters Chuck. A little known fact about Roger is that all his songs that reference the idea of can't we all just get along were born out out of Rogers visit to DVXuser.com where he saw a community of people from every walk of life, discipline, race ,creed and color getting along in an amazing way that is rarely observed anywhere. Upon seeing this incredible phenomena he was inspired to write the musical treatment which became the album "Amused to death" If you believe that...I have a Bridge for sale...... But I think we could get along, and this board is a small example of how that is possible.
ChuckS- that photo is coool..wierd how the blades are in the same position on all the choppers?! when i was a kid i wanted to fly apches when i grew up...but my eye sight is all jacked up and im colorblind...so that wasnt going to happen.

How in the hell do you create such great visual works?
I have not been well following this thread, but two points have
drawn me...
Were you in the "fifth" chopper and this was your pic?

Yep, it is cool...
and that is the nature of digital photog
a good proggy, displays the exif metadata of a pic...
never mind,
the rotor blades are "in sync"
because of the recordation device

eh, i just wear contact lenses and i have come to terms with the colorblind thingy..most of the people in my fam are CB. anyway, thank god for computers when it comes to making sure stuff is the right color...i also ask people all the time if it looks right. you should see some of my paintings from when i was a kid...art teachers and friends all thought i was being "artistic" when i would paint the grass in a painting orange or yellow...and the sky purple...
This picture was taken in 1975, there's nothing digital about it. I took this from my aircraft with an Olympus OM10."
Thank you, Sir.
Sincere thanks,
Looking at the time stamp of my msg,
and the image that you posted,
I was 3 hours out of snyc on the first, and
25 years behind on the second.
Perhaps, I am "compfused"...
Although I did not serve time in Nam,
and being of "that" generation,
and having considerable respect of
empathy for
those that did
I do have some experience with aerial pics.
(regretfully, I am not familiar with the Olympus OM10)
Throughout the 70's and 80's, I used Canon SLR's.
I am very greatful that I owned a Piper J-3 Cub,
which served me extremely well for pleasure,
logging hours, "giving rides" to family and friends,
and a stable aerial platform for photography.
Enough of my "background and my being chagrinned"
How the hell are those chopper blades "in sync"?
and "from my aircraft"....
seems to me, you were in "left seat" "PIC" in GA lingo
obviously fascinated, not needing a reply,
but, in appreciation of your posting that picture,
With respect to our posts within this thread, (minigun...insane..)
I choose to address you with the assumption that you have
read my earlier, lengthy messages which served as tribute to,
my late, dear friend Jerry Burkes,
Special Forces assasin during the "police action" in Nam,
and served his personal friends whole heartedly
throughout the last two decades of his life.

Sir, if I still owned the J3, I doubt I would have time to post.
During my ownership, I logged over 300 joyful hours!
Every one of those hours was from the rear seat,
("Solo rear seat only"). Many were "giving rides" to family
and friends. One was to a FAA examiner from Phoenix to
obtain a "Statement of Demonstrated Ability" for
Second Class Medical - "Amputation, left leg."
Waiver #35117525, dated January 6, 1975.
.....several years ownership, many stories......
I am pleased to know of your Arrow ownership!!!

I do notice that the lighting on the "closest blade"
is "hotter" than the others...
beyond that, these old eyes are "optically illuded"...

Regretfully, I have next to zero chopper experience/knowledge
(they are outta my price range, so I have not paid attention,
but am well aware of they're being a supreme aerial platform)
Aha, "hot button"
You have exhibited the attentiveness and consideration to
reply to me inspite of my blunder.
And, because of the messaging, within another thread,
about Aerial Photography - which
"punched all ten of my buttons",
and my love of the Eagle's eye view...
I choose to take this message to the forefront
and begin a new thread:
Aerial Views - the Eagle's Perspective
HopeFully, you will not regard me as taking too much liberty,
nor being "out of rank".
