minidv hd+vegas 6.0a?

I was wondering, can vegas 6.0a edit minidv HD? i have acess to both a sony hdr-fx1 and FCP 4.5, which won't work with minidv HD(we have been having to downconvert to SD) can vegas do it? if so, i might by a copy. Thanks.

I'm assuming you mean HDV? Yes. Vegas 6 can edit it.

But the latest version of 6 is 6.0d. If you're buying it and the version you buy is 6.0a, immediate upgrade to 6.0d (it's free).

Yeah, you can just download the latest version revision from Sony's website. And if you buy the downloadable version directly from Sony's website, you'll have the latest version immediately.

At any rate, you might want to test it out for yourself by downloading the free 30 day trial of Vegas 6 (or even the latest version 7).

yes you're right, I meant HDV, what i was saying was that the FCP I use can only edit DVCPRO HD, not the HDV, so the FX1 footage has to be downconverted for editing purposes.

So Vegas can import and edit HDV? awesome! thanks!
