Editing what type of files?
If you want a true workhorse that is small, the sony "Z" series are fantastic, but start at about $1,800 for a 13". If that's not in the budget, I would do a search in Newegg and the laptop sites to see what is available and the best bang for your buck. Probably the most important things in the laptop of that size for editing are going to be processor speed and hard drive speed. As far as grading goes, most laptop screens are not great at reproducing super accurate colors anyways. They can be calibrated close enough though, I get decent results with mine.

Check out the Alienware M11x. Its only 11" can have a i7, 330m, 8gb of ram for a bit over a grand. Its a pretty nice little package.
