Mini hdmi to rca for gh2

Thats a good question. But why not just keep hdmi on both ends. I imagine if you used this for monitoring, the device with composite ins would not be able to produce an HD signal. So it would most likely be useless. I could be wrong. It would maybe be better if it went from hdmi to component, as component signals are able to produce HD. What's your purpose for usinjg this cable?

If I could find a true HDMI to composite cable I'd have saved myself alot of work! For starters, the monitor on the Steadicam Pilot is Standerd Def (since its just for framing and not focus) and features composite leads built into the sled and everything. If I wanted to use the GH2 with it Iwould have to replace the monitor with a HD one rather than work with whats built into the system. So if there is some way to put Composite out from the GH2 while recording (i.e. through thr HDMI) then I'd do it becuase it currently does not support that natively.

I'm having the same issue. Just tried to go mini HDMI to std. HDMI to RCA so I could make use of an older IKAN V8000HD (just for framing and focus). No luck whatsoever. Anyone have any insight?

Hdmi doesn't carry analog video so you'd need something more complex than just s cable/adapter to do yhe conversion… something that will also need power.

I am also looking for this kind of a solution. I've seen some converters on the market but indeed they need to be powered and can be kind of big and cumbersome. I'm also looking to do this to provide an image on my glidecam to an SD monitor that I already have.

Here's one I just found: http://www.google.com/products/cata...fXRGs-ftgf_n_jYBQ&ved=0CIUBEPMCMAE#ps-sellers

I'm sure there are plenty more.. but it might be quite a lot to deal with.... Besides the price, this is one of the reasons I went with the Glidecam... I could put whatever I wanted on it to monitor it after modifying the sled... But I still have to get an HDMI monitor and with everything else considered, I might just have to go ahead and jump on that....
