=mini dv tape question=

let's say you shoot something 24pa and edit it in a 23.97 timeline. if you print the video back to a mini dv tape, will it be saved as 24p on the dv tape?

for some reason i thought dv tapes could only record/playback at 30fps.

if i took my 24pa edited project on a mini dv tape to a digital theater (with a dv deck/player), would i see the project as 24p or 30p?

I'm surprised no one has answered this yet. If you print the video back out to tape it will be recording as 24pA footage, meaning it will play 24 frames per second with a 2:3:3:2 cadence within a 29.97 data stream. Hope that makes sense. 24pA footage is recorded within a 29.97 stream, even though the frame rate is 24 fps. This is why you can stick a tape recorded in 24pA into almost ANY DV camcorder (regardless of whether it can film 24pA) and the tape will play. Same with decks. This is my understanding of the technology. I'm open to correction from anyone though.
